Sustainable Development is a development philosophy that enables the reconciliation of satisfactory economic results with deep concern for the social and natural environment.
Social responsibility
The Company’s social responsibility, which is in line with the principles of Sustainable Development, is expressed through the PGE Group Values: Partnership, Development, Responsibility.

Partnership
- we cooperate with five representative trade unions
- we finance the Employee Pension Scheme
- we co-finance the activities of Stowarzyszenie Seniorów Energetyk (Seniors' Association Energetyk), which brings together retired employees of KOGENERACJA S.A.
- we implement the "Energetyczna Kariera w PGE Energia Ciepła" (Energy Career in PGE Energia Ciepła) project promoting the energy sector among young people
- we support innovation and education within the project “Thermal energy as a key to a sustainable future” thanks to cooperation with the Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Centre for Technology Development in Wrocław
- we counteract exclusion through the following initiatives:
- "We share heat" programme * in Wrocław and in the Siechnice Municipality
- energy patronage of the Youth Sociotherapy Centre No. 2 in Wrocław
- support for the homeless and those emerging from homelessness in cooperation with the Foundation of the Cavaliers of Malta and Misja Dworcowa
- support for indigent gifted students within the framework of the activities of the Józef Pupka PGE Foundation for the Development of Science
- cooperation with KARAN and MONAR Association as part of a programme to help people with psychoactive substance abuse problems
- we activate employees to work together:
- "Kropelka" club of voluntary blood donors operating at KOGENERACJA S.A.
- cooperation with the non-governmental organisation Ekostraż helping animals
- Christmas action "And you can become Father Christmas" - support for children in the Wrocław Care and Education Centre
- we are active in the field of healthcare
- financial support for the Military Hospital with Polyclinic in Wrocław
- support for the HORYZONT Foundation dealing with children requiring early development support therapy
- support for primary schools in teaching their pupils the principles of first aid
- donating specialist equipment to the local State Fire Brigade and Lower Silesian WOPR
* The "Share the heat" programme is a nationwide PGE Energia Ciepła project addressed to the most needy recipients using district heating in cities where PGE Energia Ciepła CHP plants are located.
Development
- we carry out an annual assessment of the quality of our work, which forms the basis for the Annual Training Plan
- we support the activities of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers
Responsibility
- we plan and ensure security of electricity and heat supply
- we work to improve air quality - implementation of projects contributing to the reduction of low emissions in Wrocław and the Siechnice municipality
- we take care of the highest health and safety standards by means of
- awareness-raising programmes for employees, subcontractors and visitors
- management site visits (WMT)
- "Safety messages" for each day
- implementation of the "Work with your head" competition
- we promote a healthy lifestyle among employees through:
- a package of additional medical services
- financing the activities of the Sports and Tourism Association operating at KOGENERACJA S.A.
- financing Multisport cards
- we support and finance biodiversity in the area of EC Wrocław, i.e. Energetyczna Pasieka, installation of feeders and feeding of wintering birds, care for feral cats in the area of EC Wrocław.
