Zespół Elektrociepłowni Wrocławskich KOGENERACJA S.A.

The company is an energy company specialising in the generation of heat and electricity as well as heat transmission and distribution. The production of heat and electricity in a cogeneration process ensures the achievement of high generation efficiency on an average annual basis, which means the most effective use of chemical energy of primary fuels among professional energy companies.

The energy efficiency of combined heat and power generation saves primary energy contained in fuel.

Location of the Company

The Company comprises four production plants:

• Wrocław Heat and Power Plant (EC Wrocław), located in Wrocław;
• Czechnica Heat and Power Plant (EC Czechnica), located in Siechnice near Wrocław, ul. Fabryczna 22;
• Czechnica 2 Heat and Power Plant (EC Czechnica 2), located in Siechnice near Wrocław, ul. Stawowa 1;
• Zawidawie Heat and Power Plant (EC Zawidawie), located in the southern part of Wrocław, Psie Pole district.

The plants have a total electrical capacity of 310 MW_e and a total thermal capacity of 1 064 MW_t.

Combined heat and power plants are central heat sources for Wrocław in terms of covering the needs for heating, domestic hot water and process heat, as well as sources of electricity that form part of the national electricity system.

EC Zielona Góra S.A.

EC Zielona Góra S.A. is a company active in the generation of electricity and the generation and distribution of heat. After the commissioning of the gas-steam unit (BGP) in 2004, the company went from being a company with a heating profile to one that mainly produces electricity based on domestic natural gas.

The installed electrical capacity is 198 MW_e (gas-steam unit). The installed thermal capacity is 303 MWₜ, of which: 135 MWₜ (gas-steam unit), 167 MWₜ (gas-oil boiler plant and 4 local boiler plants). 

The company provides heat and heated water for the city of Zielona Góra and is a heat distributor.

SIECHNICE NOWA ENERGIA Sp. z o.o.

The company SIECHNICE NOWA ENERGIA Sp. z o.o. was established in order to develop and implement a project consisting in revitalising and giving new economic, social and public functions to the facilities of Elektrociepłownia Czechnica owned by KOGENERACJA S.A., located on real estate in the Municipality of Siechnice.

On 29 August 2023. KOGENERACJA S.A. acquired 50 shares with a nominal value of PLN 50 and a total nominal value of PLN 2 500 in the company SIECHNICE NOWA ENERGIA Sp. z o.o., which accounted for 50% of shares in the equity. On 13 December 2023, the share capital of the company was increased by PLN 395 000 by a resolution of the Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting. KOGENERACJA S.A. held 4 000 shares in SIECHNICE NOWA ENERGIA Sp. z o.o. with a nominal value of 50 PLN and a total nominal value of 200 PLN thousand.
